Well, I hadn't intended to turn this into a "Disney heroines" theme month. But I started seeing more fan art of Princess Kidagakash ("Kida") from Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) popping up on deviantART, so I figured, hey, why not? Hopefully this Disney babe is not quite as obscure as "Miss Smith".
Atlantis was one of those movies I liked, but wanted to love. The fact that this was not a typical Disney animated musical, but a fantasy-adventure film, was very much a point in its favor. I loved the portrayal of Kida's character, a strong and capable warrior-princess; disappointed by the character design (largely the work of Hellboy creator Mike Mignola) which was much too angular for my taste. (My design for Kida would've looked more like this [link] )
