This is a "what-if" story (or, in the parlance of the DC Comics of my childhood, an "Imaginary Story"; I suppose today it would be called an "Elseworlds" entry) that speculates on the results of Sonya Gannon testing out her wayward "anti-aging" formula on herself. It's been (and still is) available at my website, but there've been several requests to see it posted here. So...

I'd made the decision, ever since I started the Tetsuko comic, that Tetsuko and Slade would be the only recipients (victims?) of the formula. But there are a lot of readers out there who still want to see what Sonya would look like with Tet-chan's physique. So, to satisfy those requests - and hey, because I wanted to see it too - I went ahead and created this story, "Sonya's Growing Pains".

Just keep in mind, this story is not part of the official continuity. Because if everyone in the story get shot up with this formula, then what's the point of Tetsuko herself? "When everyone's super, no one's super," as a rather popular movie of a few years ago put it.

I put the "Mature" advisory on all the pages, even the ones which don't feature any "adult" material, because I don't want someone starting to read the story and then unable to finish because of the filter being on only some of the pages.

'If everyone is Super, then no one is special' or something along those lines, I'm not sure. The villain in 'The Incredibles' got it all wrong!

If everyone is super, then we hold a series of grudge matches to see who the top dog is! Marvel & DC have been wasting our time.....erhm, I mean, making super-brawling comics like that for decades now!

Great premise for an alternate tale to the Tetsuko universe.

That line actually appears twice, in slightly different forms, in The Incredibles; Dash says it at the end of a scene in which he's complaining to his mom that he's not allowed to exercise his super-speed to its fullest. The scene ends with Dash saying "If everyone's special, then no one's special." (Then of course Syndrome uses it later as "If everyone's super" etc.)

No ones super if they have the same super power anyway.

Great job by the way.

You want to know what's really spooky? The fact that scientists have actually created prototype serums that have results similar to the one depicted here.

I am not kidding. I keep up to date on developments like that. One particular DNA cocktail, when used on labatory mice, cause them to increase their weight by forty percent, just from increased muscle mass. And they're already doing testing with human subjects.

I guess it's just another case of truth being stranger than fiction, huh?

I love this story! Read it in its entirety, and now I can comment. Insta-faved all 18 pages, of course. :D
