Day 20: Surprised/scared

And before you start in all "What would someone as strong as Tetsuko possibly be scared of?", consider this question: why would the same process that endowed her with super strength necessarily endow her with super courage? Maybe she heard a "thump" out in the living room. Maybe it's a gang of robbers; maybe it's a horde of zombies she doesn't know how to kill. Maybe it's a spider - a twelve-foot-tall tarantula! Until she knows what it is, fear of the unknown undoubtedly will clutch her heart.

Courage isn't the lack of fear, or the inability to feel fear - it's the will to overcome your fear and do what needs to be done.

Or maybe she's just having a bad dream - about a twelve-foot-tall zombie tarantula.
